Attacks on the information space in Ukraine
Russia has intensified attacks on the information space in Ukraine, attempting to destabilize society. Deputy Head of the President's Office Viktor Mykyta reported on provocative narratives in social media and the activities of bot farms. According to him, the enemy is trying to spread panic narratives that contribute to destabilizing the situation in the country.
Moreover, the Russian Federation continues its attempts to disrupt peace negotiations. Volodymyr Zelenskyy also expressed concern, noting that the Russian Ministry of Defense used a fake story about an attack on Putin's residence as a pretext for strikes on Ukraine. Zelenskyy noted that currently, statements about attacks on the residence are preparing the ground for potential strikes on Kyiv and state buildings.
Use of disinformation
Sergiy Lavrov reported an attack by a drone on Putin's residence on the night of December 29, coinciding with an intensification of information campaigns against Ukraine. Such actions indicate Russia's intentions to use disinformation to escalate aggression against Ukraine.
The intensification of information attacks by Russia against the backdrop of rising tensions in the region indicates attempts to destabilize the situation in Ukraine. It is important to note that information operations combined with military actions can have serious consequences for security and stability in the country. In wartime conditions, such actions can also affect international support for Ukraine and its diplomatic efforts.
