Russia is destroying Vovchansk with artillery: the city remains under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Вовчанськ зазнає руйнівних артилерійських обстрілів, проте залишається під наглядом українських військових.

The situation in Vovchansk

Russian troops continue to shell Vovchansk, but have not been able to succeed in capturing the city. The majority of Vovchansk remains under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. According to an officer of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade named after hetman Ivan Vyhovsky with the call sign 'Historian', the situation in the city remains stable despite active hostilities by the occupiers.

The occupiers are destroying the northern part of Vovchansk with artillery, trying to bypass the city from the western outskirts. However, in the South Slobozhansky direction, the majority of the territory is under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine. Assault actions of Russian troops are being conducted in the area of the settlements:

  • Synelnykove
  • Tsehelne
  • Lyman

At the same time, Russian troops have critical problems with logistics and supply, which complicates their actions.

“As soon as we see an enemy unit of armored vehicles or another means of transport, our scouts immediately transmit the information to the artillery or mortar units, and we effectively hit the targets” — officer of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade.

This information indicates active interaction between the units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, which allows them to effectively counter Russian shelling and protect the city.

The context of the conflict in Slobozhanshchyna

The situation in Vovchansk is an important part of the broader conflict in Slobozhanshchyna, where Ukrainian forces are trying to maintain control over key settlements under constant pressure from Russian troops. Active interaction between different units of Ukrainian forces, as well as logistical problems for the enemy, may become decisive factors in further combat actions in this region.
