Russia has switched to aerial terror: why the enemy cannot conduct naval operations

Spokesman of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Dmytro Pletenchuk, reported that the aggressor has focused on aerial terror as it has no capacity to conduct open naval operations. In particular, this is manifested in strikes with ballistic missiles from the territory of occupied Crimea and drone attacks of the 'Shahed' type. Such actions indicate a change in the enemy's tactics, which boils down to remote aggression.

Dmytro Pletenchuk noted that for Ukraine, the sea is an important strategic resource, as 90% of export-import operations take place through maritime routes. However, three serious water obstacles complicate the aggressor's capabilities for advancement in this direction towards Odesa. At the same time, the attempts of the invaders to advance on the left bank of the Dnipro are also failing, which confirms the enemy's inability to conduct active military operations at sea.

Protection of maritime routes and challenges for Ukraine

In the face of these challenges, Ukrainian forces continue to defend their interests and ensure the security of maritime routes, despite the aggressor's attempts to destabilize the situation using air attacks.

The concentration of Russia on aerial terror may indicate the strategic limitations it faces in the maritime environment. Given the importance of maritime routes for Ukraine's economy, controlling these routes remains a key aspect for ensuring the stability and security of the state. The aggressor's further actions in the air could have serious consequences for the civilian population and infrastructure, which is why the struggle for maintaining maritime corridors will continue to be an important task for Ukrainian forces.
