The aircraft plant in Kazan is increasing airplane production. Recent images published by "Glavkom" and Yle show new hangars covering almost 19 thousand square meters.
The Kazan plant plays an important role in the production of strategic aviation. New photos show the emergence of several hangars, the largest of which is 320 meters long.
According to Yle, by 2025, dozens of thousands of square meters of new production areas will be built at the plant. Investments in modernizing the enterprise amount to about 90 billion rubles (almost 1 billion euros) and are planned to be completed by the end of next year.
Military experts note that production is slow: in 2024, the plant delivered only a few upgraded aircraft to the Aerospace Forces.
In the fight against sanctions, the plant faces problems with components and personnel. The production of civil aircraft Tu-214 is also complicated - 23 airplanes are ordered, but only one has been completed.
Recall that in April 2024, drones of the Main Intelligence Directorate attacked the Gorbunov Aircraft Plant in Kazan, which specializes in the production and repair of Tu-22M and Tu-160M bombers.
The Russian aircraft plant in Kazan is actively expanding aircraft production, building new hangars and modernizing the enterprise. However, the plant faces challenges due to sanctions, a shortage of components, and issues with civil aircraft production.
