Attack on Kyiv, May 24
During a massive overnight assault by Russia on Kyiv on May 24, the building housing Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers sustained damage. Windows were blown out at the government headquarters, but no casualties occurred among staff or people near the government district. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko provided details on the attack.
Beyond that, Russian strikes on civilian infrastructure claimed at least four lives and left more than 80 people wounded. Over 50 locations across Kyiv were damaged, including residential complexes, a market, museums, and embassies. Notably, two large residential complexes near the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine were hit, along with high-rise civilian structures in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district.
