Russia earned 7.2 billion euros on gas for the EU in 2025: how supplies changed

Европа витратила 7.2 мільярда євро на російський газ у 2025 році: які зміни відбулися в постачаннях.

LNG Exports in 2025

In 2025, the Russian Federation earned 7.2 billion euros from the supply of liquefied natural gas from Yamal to the European Union. Throughout the year, over 15 million tons of Russian liquefied natural gas were delivered to European terminals. Meanwhile, the share of the European Union in supplies from Yamal increased to 76.1%.

However, despite the increase in Europe's share, Gazprom's supply volumes to Europe decreased by 44% compared to the previous year, reaching 18 billion cubic meters. This is the lowest figure since 1973. The record for Gazprom's supplies was recorded in 2018-2019, when the volumes amounted to 170-180 billion cubic meters.

Imports of Liquefied Gas to Europe and China

In 2025, the Belgian port of Zeebrugge received 58 vessels with 4.2 million tons of liquefied gas, while 51 vessels with 3.6 million tons arrived at all Chinese ports. France became the largest importer, receiving 87 vessels with 6.3 million tons of liquefied gas.

In December 2025, the revenue to the budget of the Russian Federation from the sale of energy resources amounted to about 410 billion rubles, equivalent to 5.17 billion dollars.

These data indicate a complicated situation in the energy market, where, despite the increase in supplies to the European Union, the overall volume of Gazprom's exports is decreasing. This may indicate a decrease in demand for Russian gas due to political and economic factors, as well as a gradual reduction in Europe's dependence on Russian energy resources. Such changes point to potential long-term consequences for energy security and the economy of Russia.
