Massive attack on Kyiv
A new Russian attack is underway in Ukraine, during which almost 500 drones and 40 missiles, including 'dungers', were used overnight. The main targets were Kyiv and energy and civil infrastructure. As a result of the attacks, residential buildings were damaged, and in some areas of the capital and the region, there is no electricity supply or heating.
Elimination of the consequences of the attacks
After the attacks, work continues to eliminate the consequences, including extinguishing fires that broke out as a result of the shelling. In one of the damaged houses, searches are ongoing for a person who may be trapped under the rubble. The situation remains complicated, and emergency services continue to operate on the ground.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky noted that supplies for air defense systems must be sufficient and timely, especially under current conditions, when the country needs protection. He also expressed gratitude to every leader and country that is providing assistance to Ukraine during this difficult time.
“Diplomacy will not work without security,” - Volodymyr Zelensky.
Zelensky emphasized that ensuring the country's defense capability is critical. As a result of the nighttime attacks, the situation in the capital remains tense, and Ukrainians continue to deal with the aftermath of yet another missile strike, highlighting the protracted nature of the conflict and its impact on the civilian population.
This massive attack again underscores the need to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities in light of the ongoing conflict. Attacks on civilian infrastructure highlight the aggressor's strategy aimed at destabilizing the country. The importance of international support and timely arms supply remains critical to ensuring the safety of Ukrainian citizens and maintaining stability in the region.
