Russian troops have intensified strikes on gas stations in frontline areas of the Kharkiv region. In just one night, nine gas stations in Kharkiv and the region came under fire. Ukrainian military officials believe that such tactics may be used more frequently, so gas station owners are advised to strengthen the protection of their facilities. This was reported by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleg Synegubov.

Nine gas stations were struck in one night

According to the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Russian troops attacked:

  • one gas station in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv;
  • three gas stations in the Bohodukhiv district – in Bohodukhiv, Zolochiv, and Valky;
  • four gas stations in the Kharkiv district – three in the village of Travneve of the Liubotyn community and one in Derhachi.

In Valky, as a result of the strike, a 45-year-old man was killed, and two others were injured.

At the same time, the day before, Russian troops had already attacked another five gas stations in the Bohodukhiv, Berestyn, and Kharkiv districts of the region.

Military warns of increased attacks

The head of the KRAKEN 1654 drone unit, Danilo Akulenko, believes that the Russian army is deliberately trying to destroy the fuel infrastructure near the frontline.

According to him, the enemy is actively using FPV drones and Italmas drones to strike gas stations.

«I would advise the owners of Kharkiv gas stations to quickly shield the explosive parts of gas stations with plates, bags, or gabions. The scale of such attacks will only grow, so it is necessary to prepare now», – noted Akulenko.

This is not the first wave of strikes

A similar series of attacks on gas stations occurred at the end of April and the beginning of May.

At that time, the mayor of Kharkiv, Ihor Terekhov, also urged gas station owners to enhance security measures and protect their facilities from possible drone strikes.

Let us remind you that on June 28, Russian troops launched a missile strike on the Zmiiv community in the Chuhuiv district of the Kharkiv region. As a result of the attack, a 55-year-old woman was killed, and 8 people were injured, including two children: a 10-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy.
