Russian invaders were unable to achieve their goal of reaching the administrative border between Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions, so they redirected their main forces to attempt to encircle Pokrovsk.
Stabilization of the Situation
In the area of responsibility of the 59th Brigade, the situation has stabilized - for the last week, the Russians have not conducted ground assaults. The occupiers are limited to remote shelling, using FPV drones, and dropping guided aerial bombs.
'They had the goal to reach the border with Dnipropetrovsk, which they have failed to achieve. They have invested a lot of their forces, both personnel and equipment,' noted a military officer, adding that despite propaganda, the resources of the occupiers are not limitless.
Change of Tactics
After suffering defeat on one front, the Russians changed tactics and focused on attempts to encircle Pokrovsk. They are using a traditional approach - looking for the weakest links in the Ukrainian defense.
'In the Pokrovsk direction, where the enemy is met fiercely, they do not advance. They concentrate all their forces around the city itself,' explained Myshak.
According to him, the occupiers are 'testing' the Ukrainian defense at various sections, and where they meet stiff resistance, they cease attacks. They concentrate efforts only on those directions where they feel the possibility of a breakthrough.
