Intense shelling and assaults in Sumy region
The Russian army continues shelling and assaults in the Sumy region, despite enemy units being transferred to other sections of the front. The situation in the northern direction remains tense.
'The enemy is actively conducting assault operations in the Kursk direction and constantly demonstrates its presence along the state border with the Russian Federation within the Chernihiv and Sumy regions. On average, 30 to 50 guided aerial bombs fall on Sumy region per day,'said the head of the press service of the 15th mobile battalion 'Steel Border', Colonel Ivan Shevtsov.
Combat actions and diversions
Even after the transfer of enemy units, the intensity of combat actions in the region has not decreased. The number of assaults remains high, while attempts at enemy diversions are becoming rarer.
'Throughout August, there was only one attempt by a sabotage and reconnaissance group to enter, but the defense forces successfully repelled it. This is explained by the good fortification of the state border line with mine barriers and combat positions,'added Colonel Shevtsov. He also pointed out that on the front lines, the enemy uses earthen fortifications, while in the rear, on the territory of Russia, there are concrete fortifications.
Reports that the Russian army continues intense shelling and assaults in the northern direction of Sumy region indicate the continuation of conflict in the region and an unfavorable situation at the front. At the same time, information about successfully repelled attacks and a high level of defense capability of Ukrainian forces indicates readiness and ability to resist enemy aggression.
