Honoring the memory of Denis Kapustin
Russian football player Nadezhda Karpova honored the memory of the commander of the Russian Volunteer Corps (RDK) Denis Kapustin, who died on the Zaporizhzhia front. Kapustin's death occurred at night during a combat mission, reportedly as a result of an FPV drone strike.
Denis Kapustin, known by the call sign 'WhiteRex', was born in Moscow. He lived in the Netherlands and Germany. Kapustin was actively involved in volunteer activities at the beginning of the war, assisting volunteers, patrolling the capital's train station, delivering medications, and guarding humanitarian cargo.
- In the spring of 2022, he made his first combat trip to Mykolaiv.
- In August of that year, he joined the RDK, where he became a commander.
Honoring Kapustin's memory reflects his significance among his comrades and the support he received throughout his service. His words about freedom, in which he noted that
'freedom in the fullest sense of the word is synonymous with Ukraine', became a symbol of his convictions and goals.
Risks and losses on the front
The death of Denis Kapustin underscores the risks and losses that accompany combat operations in eastern Ukraine. His involvement in volunteer initiatives and active stance on the front demonstrates how individuals can influence the course of events in the context of war.
