Expanded financial aid awaits Ukrainians in January 2026

In January 2026, Ukraine will launch an expanded financial support program for various categories of the population. The assistance will cover internally displaced persons, low-income families, people with disabilities, residents of frontline areas, and families with children. This was reported by Vchasno.

According to the budget for 2026, more than UAH 468 billion is allocated for social protection, which is almost UAH 48 billion more than last year. The subsistence minimum will increase by 9.9%. The one-time payment for the birth of a child will be UAH 50,000, and the 'Baby Package' can be received in kind or in the form of a cash compensation of UAH 7,689.

Financial support in January 2026: payments for families with children

For child care until the age of one, the government will pay UAH 7,000 monthly, and for children with disabilities - UAH 10,500. Also, a program 'eYasla' will be launched for parents who return to work after the child reaches one year.

  • monthly payments under the 'eYasla' program - UAH 8,000

  • for children with disabilities - UAH 12,000

  • 'School Package' for first-graders - one-time UAH 5,000.

International aid and winter support programs for Ukrainians in 2026

International organizations will also continue financial support. The Norwegian Refugee Council will pay UAH 2,200 for each family member monthly for three months for IDPs and residents of frontline areas. UNICEF plans to provide assistance to 4.3 million Ukrainians by attracting funding of $350 million.

Separately, the 'Winter Support' program will operate, which provides for:

  • compensation for electricity up to 100 kWh per person or 300 kWh per household

  • one-time payment of UAH 19,400 for solid fuel

  • free rides on Ukrzaliznytsia up to 3,000 km during off-peak months for residents of frontline regions.
