The Deputy Head of the GUR Vadim Skibitsky reported that Russia has improved the production of aerial bombs using new unified control modules, which have significantly increased their range. According to Skibitsky, these modules began to be tested in combat conditions after their development in September-October.
Currently, aerial bombs with new modules can hit targets at a distance of 150 to 200 km, and have also become more resistant to electronic countermeasures. Additionally, their technical features allow them to hit targets at even greater distances.
“The first such strikes were observed in Dnipro, and now we see them in other cities – this is exactly the approach used by the Russian Federation”
It is also worth noting that on October 20, Russian troops used a modernized guided aerial bomb for the first time about 120 km from Poltava. These bombs are equipped with a jet engine, significantly increasing their range. To effectively counter them, it is important to destroy not only the bombs themselves but also their carriers.
In summary, it can be said that Russia is actively improving its military equipment, particularly aerial bombs with new unified control modules. This may have serious consequences for the situation in the region and require appropriate Ukrainian responses.
