Marco Rubio, the U.S. Secretary of State, believes that the arsenal of new sanctions against Russia is almost depleted. After imposing restrictions in key sectors of the Russian economy, in the financial system, and against high-ranking officials, the focus will now shift to enforcing existing sanctions. This decision was announced during a meeting of the foreign ministers of G7 countries in Canada. Rubio also noted that Russia is using a shadow fleet to circumvent oil restrictions and urged European countries to take a more active role in this process due to their proximity to the situation.
Additionally, the Secretary of State emphasized that Russia is quickly destroying the air defense systems provided to Ukraine, posing a threat to the security of its energy system.
