Currently, the following delays are observed:

  • №779/780 Kyiv-Sumy (+02:57);

  • №787/788 Kyiv-Shostka (+01:05);

  • №773/774 Shostka-Kyiv (+03:30);

  • №143/144 Sumy-Lviv (+01:40).

Passengers of the trains are in station shelters or in carriages depending on the stop location. The press service noted that dispatchers are closely monitoring the situation in the region, and locomotive crews are preparing to make up for delays after the air raid alert is lifted, to inspect the tracks and ensure the safety of movement.

Attacks on the railway: Russian strategy

We remind you that the Russian Federation has intensified strikes on Ukraine's railway infrastructure since mid-summer, attacking it with an average of six to seven 'Shaheds' nearly every night. The attacks, which have affected dozens of substations, are related to a sharp increase in the number of long-range drones produced by the Russian military-industrial complex. The attacks are not specifically focused on military cargo.

The head of the board of 'Ukrzaliznytsia' Oleksandr Pertzovsky noted that the Russians act systematically, disabling one substation after another or key railway nodes to stop passenger trains. 'Their primary goal is to sow panic among passengers, their secondary goal is to strike at the economy as a whole,' says Pertzovsky.

During the intensification of attacks on the railways, Ukrainian residents have begun to face not only delays in train movements but also a real threat to their safety. The Russian strategy is aimed at inducing panic among passengers and causing harm to the Ukrainian economy.
