Strike on the Russian oil platform
The Security Service of Ukraine struck the Russian oil platform in the Caspian Sea, marking the third such strike. The target of the attack was the 'Lukoil' field named 'Rakushchne', after Valeriy Hraifer.
The damage was inflicted using long-range drones from the CSO 'A'. The drone's onboard camera recorded hits in the area of the platform's gas turbine installation. The Security Service of Ukraine conducts these strikes to reduce Russia's revenues from energy resources. It is worth noting that the SBU previously struck a tanker of Russia's shadow fleet in neutral waters of the Mediterranean Sea for the first time.
Strategy against Russian energy resources
These actions underline Ukraine's activity in countering Russia's energy resources and their negative impact on the military capabilities of the enemy.
This attack is part of Ukraine's strategy to reduce the financial resources of Russia that are used to support military actions.
Considering three successful strikes on Russian energy facilities, one can observe a change in the tactics of Ukrainian forces, who increasingly resort to drone technologies to achieve their goals. Such actions can have a significant impact on the energy security of the region and international politics in the context of the war between Ukraine and Russia.
