Sergiy Beskrestnov: half of the 'shaheds' on the Kovel - Kyiv railway carry magnetic mines

Сергій Бескреснов: при навчанні на залізниці Ковель - Київ виявлено небезпеку від магнітних мін.

Threats from 'shahed' drones

Specialist in electronic warfare systems Sergiy Beskrestnov reported that Ukrainian Defense Forces destroy 'shahed' drones equipped with missiles daily. Recently, half of these drones attacking the Kovel - Kyiv railway route carried magnetic mines. These mines are dropped into the snow, creating additional safety risks.

New challenges for security

Changes in the design of 'shahed' drones also raise concerns. They have a new type of warhead weighing 90 kg, as well as transferred structural elements. Sergiy Beskrestnov urged all relevant services to be cautious and alert about the risks associated with these new threats.

'These magnetic mines can self-eliminate within a few days, meaning that explosions may soon occur from those mines that were dropped, for example, on January 12.' Sergiy Beskrestnov

This news highlights the ongoing threats faced by Ukrainian Defense Forces, particularly in the context of the increasing use of drone technology by the enemy. The importance of timely response and adaptation to new types of threats is becoming increasingly obvious, especially considering how changes in drone design can affect the safety of the civilian population.

Continuing to monitor and analyze new threats is critically important for ensuring effective defense and preventing possible incidents.
