Inconsistency of official statements
During a conversation with Yuriy Romanenko, philosopher Sergey Datsyuk criticized the actions of the Ukrainian leadership in the diplomatic sphere. In his opinion, a number of the authorities' statements about ending the conflict demonstrate a lack of a unified line, which raises doubts about the effectiveness of possible negotiations.
Main complaints
Datsyuk identified four key points that, in his view, reveal inconsistency in the words and actions of the president:
- The current presidential decree prohibiting negotiations;
- The absence of cancellation of this decree;
- Despite the ban, the president publicly states that the war will only end at the negotiating table;
- Actual negotiation efforts by the authorities against the backdrop of all these statements.
The expert emphasized that such contradictions raise questions about the real state strategy. He stated:
'Here is the main inconsistency. There is a presidential decree — no negotiations. At the same time, it continues to be in effect. Furthermore, the president repeats that the end of the war is negotiations. And finally, he is actually conducting these negotiations. And simultaneously claims that they are impossible, as the opponent will not agree to anything.' Sergey Datsyuk
The philosopher also noted that both sides of the conflict are only creating the appearance of dialogue, pursuing their own goals. 'Both Ukraine and Russia are playing at negotiations. Russia needs the sanctions to be lifted and pretends before Trump that it participates in the dialogue. Our goal, however, is to continue arms supplies,' he explained.
Datsyuk raised the question of the absence of a clear plan: 'What kind of strategy is this? Is there any rational grain in it, understandable not only to us, civilians in the rear, but also to the military who will have to fight? What should they do — fight or not?'
In conclusion, he gave a harsh assessment of the current situation:
'Such stupidity and inconsistency, as in the matter of negotiations, is not present in anything else. It is just a catastrophe. There is neither strategy nor understanding, just contradictions. At least make up your mind, finally.' Sergey Datsyuk
Datsyuk's criticism highlights the need for a clear and consistent position in wartime conditions. Such discrepancies in official statements can weaken international support and undermine trust in the Ukrainian government. For the audience in Russia and the CIS, this situation serves as an illustration of the complex internal discussions in Ukraine around the topic of conflict resolution. In diplomatic confrontation, where each side has its own interests, clarity of goals and strategy is critically important for strengthening positions on the world stage.
