Unmanned Systems Launch Overnight Attacks in Occupied Crimea
On the night of June 20, Ukrainian unmanned systems struck four gas compressor stations in occupied Crimea, a road bridge over the Henichesk Strait, a harbor tugboat in Skadovsk, fuel tankers, a heavy tractor, and armored combat vehicles deep behind enemy lines. The targeted gas compressor stations are located in the settlements of Zhuravlivka, Aromatne, Kliuchi, and Lokhivka. Three of these stations were hit by the 9th Battalion 'Kairos' of the 414th Separate Brigade of the Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) 'Madar's Birds', while the fourth was struck by the 1st Separate Center of the SBS.
Infrastructure and Logistics Targets Hit
In addition, the road bridge across the Henichesk Strait was struck by the 427th Brigade of the SBS 'Rarog'. In Skadovsk, a harbor tugboat was targeted and hit by drones from the 20th Brigade of the SBS 'K-2'. Other confirmed strikes include:
- fuel tankers in Dmytrivka, Donetsk region, and Chaplynka, Kherson region;
- a heavy BAZ-6403 tractor in Kliuchove;
- armored combat vehicles in Luhansk region, including a 'Typhoon-K' near Nyzhnia Duvanka.
A number of enemy logistics vehicles were destroyed in Crimea, Kherson, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions. Commander of the SBS, Robert Brovdi, call sign 'Madar', stated:
'The Birds of the SBS are organizing logistics in the operational depth of the enemy.' - Robert Brovdi
He added: 'Last night, the Birds of the SBS visited 4 GCS in Crimea.'
These strikes highlight the increased activity of Ukrainian forces deep in enemy territory, which could significantly impact the logistical capabilities of Russian troops in occupied regions. Destroying key infrastructure such as gas compressor stations and transport routes may lead to supply delays and reduced combat effectiveness for the Russian military. These operations also underscore the growing importance of drone technology in modern warfare.
The recent drone strikes on gas facilities in Crimea are part of a broader strategy to undermine Russian logistics in the region. This follows a previous attack on Crimea's sole gas storage site, which further illustrates the vulnerability of critical energy infrastructure.
