Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Force Strikes 21 Russian Vessels at Sea in Just 72 Hours

Безпілотники України за три доби знищили 21 російський корабель в акваторії моря.

Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Force Launches Major Offensive

Over a three-day period ending July 8, Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Force (SBS) struck 21 vessels belonging to occupying forces, including the burning of nine tankers from Russia’s shadow fleet in the Sea of Azov. During this timeframe, SBS drones hit 19 shadow fleet tankers, one dry cargo ship, and one ferry in Kerch. The attacks were carried out by pilots from the 414th Brigade 'Madyar’s Birds' of the Kairos Battalion, the 413th Regiment 'Raids,' and the 1st Independent Center of the SBS.

On the same night of July 8, SBS drones also struck 53 military targets in Crimea and the southern part of temporarily occupied territories. As part of the 'Crimean Switch' campaign, six electrical substations were knocked offline. From July 1 to 8, the 'Birds' disabled 50 energy nodes across the peninsula and southern region. All strikes were coordinated by the newly established Deep Strike Center of the Unmanned Systems Force, under the command of Commander Robert 'Madyar' Brovdi.

Strike Effectiveness and Strategic Implications

This series of attacks highlights the growing strength and effectiveness of Ukraine’s unmanned systems in countering Russian military forces, particularly regarding strategic control of the Black Sea region. The successful operations targeting enemy vessels and energy infrastructure underscore the adaptability of Ukrainian troops to modern combat conditions and the critical role of innovation in warfare. For an English-speaking audience, these developments illustrate how drone technology is reshaping naval and energy warfare in real-time.

  • Destruction of enemy vessels.
  • Strikes on energy infrastructure.
  • Impact on the adversary’s logistical capabilities.

Such actions could significantly affect the enemy’s logistical capabilities, a key factor in prolonged military conflicts.

In addition to these naval strikes, Ukrainian drones have also targeted critical infrastructure within Crimea, demonstrating their versatility and strategic focus. Recently, five power substations and a gas facility were damaged, further crippling the enemy’s operational capabilities.
