Attacks on Military and Industrial Sites
During the night of June 28, Ukraine’s defense forces launched strikes on military and industrial facilities within Russia and occupied territories. These operations targeted critical infrastructure and military assets. The following locations were hit:
- two oil refineries in the Krasnodar region and Yaroslavl,
- a railway bridge in Crimea,
- an ammunition depot in Donetsk region,
- workshops of an industrial complex in Volgograd.
Details of the Strikes
The first attack struck the 'Slavyansky' oil refinery in Slavyansk-on-Kuban, Krasnodar region, which is owned by the company 'Slavyansk ECO'. The second target was the Yaroslavl refinery ('Slavneft-YANOS') in Yaroslavl, which has an annual capacity of 15 million tons of oil. In addition, Ukrainian forces hit a railway bridge near Ichky in occupied Crimea.
Another strike targeted an ammunition depot near Amvrosiivka in Donetsk region. Analysis confirmed that Ukrainian missiles impacted three workshops at the 'Titan-Barricades' industrial complex in Volgograd. The 'Slavyansky' refinery is located more than 300 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. These attacks are part of a 40-day operation to pressure Russia, conducted under the directive of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
The Security Service of Ukraine stated that Russia must understand a simple pattern: 'the longer it wages its war of aggression against Ukraine, the higher the price of this aggression will be.'
As part of this operation, 'Alpha' unit fighters collaborated with the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Main Intelligence Directorate, and the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. These actions highlight the increasing activity of Ukrainian forces in response to Russian aggression.
These strikes represent an escalation in the Ukraine-Russia conflict, particularly Ukraine’s effort to target the enemy’s strategic resources. Notably, such operations are coordinated at high levels and supported by various units. This reflects the adaptation of Ukrainian forces to new warfare conditions and their ability to execute complex missions far from the front lines.
As the situation intensifies, the Ukrainian military continues to demonstrate its capabilities through strategic strikes. In a recent operation, they targeted both a Russian refinery and a warship, showcasing a coordinated effort to disrupt enemy resources.
