Ukrainian Defense Forces Strike Oil Depots in Crimea and Novorossiysk Overnight

ЗСУ завдали удару по нафтосховищам у Криму та Новому Руському вночі.

Attacks on Russian Military Targets

On the night of June 7, Ukraine’s defense forces launched strikes on Russian military assets in temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as in the Belgorod and Donetsk regions. These operations hit oil depots, an FSB command post, an ammunition warehouse, and areas where Russian troops were concentrated.

Among the key targets was the Semikolodezyanskaya oil depot near the settlement of Lenine in occupied Crimea, which caught fire. This facility ranks as one of the largest storage and transshipment hubs for petroleum products in eastern Crimea. Another strike targeted an oil depot near Feodosia, the peninsula’s biggest oil transshipment complex, capable of handling up to 10–12 million tons of petroleum products annually.

Additionally, Ukrainian forces struck a Russian FSB command post near Volokonovka in the Belgorod region. A Russian military ammunition depot near the settlement of Svobodne in Donetsk was also hit. Further attacks targeted concentrations of occupation troops near Shchastia in the Luhansk region and Blahodatne in the Donetsk region.

Strikes on Oil Depots in Novorossiysk

On the night of June 8, drones attacked the Grushova transshipment oil depot and the Sheskharis complex in Novorossiysk, Krasnodar Krai. A fire broke out at the Novorossiysk facility following the strike. This marks at least the fourth attack on Novorossiysk’s oil infrastructure since the start of 2026.

“The defense forces continue their systematic work to reduce Russia’s military potential and disrupt the logistical support of the Russian group.” - Ukrainian Defense Forces

These strikes highlight an intensification of Ukrainian operations in response to Russian military aggression, aiming to degrade Moscow’s logistical capabilities. Destroying critical assets like oil depots and command posts can significantly hinder Russia’s ability to sustain its military campaigns in the region. Such actions also underscore the strategic importance of controlling key resources during wartime.

These recent actions are part of a broader strategy by Ukrainian forces to target Russian military assets, similar to the recent strikes on fuel depots deep within Russian territory. Such operations not only disrupt logistical chains but also demonstrate a significant escalation in Ukraine's military response.
