Ukraine's Defense Forces Strike Deep Into Russian Territory in April 2026
Throughout April 2026, Ukraine's Defense Forces carried out more than 160 long-range strikes, hitting targets at distances of up to 120–150 kilometers. These operations focused on locations in Crimea, as well as several Russian regions including Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Rostov, and Bryansk, alongside areas in Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia. The strikes proved highly effective, inflicting serious damage on a wide range of enemy military assets.
Specifically, the following were destroyed:
- 25 air defense systems and radar stations, including the Nebo, Kasta, P-18, Podlet, and 96L6 radars;
- Tor, Buk, and Osa missile systems, along with Pantsir surface-to-air missile and gun systems, and a Bastion coastal defense missile system;
- Over 65 storage depots and logistics hubs;
- 33 control centers for unmanned aerial vehicles, as well as drone storage facilities and repair workshops;
- 17 headquarters and command posts.
Additionally, the strikes took out Mi-28 and Mi-17 helicopters, and targeted more than 20 areas where enemy personnel and equipment were concentrated. These actions highlight the ability of Ukraine's forces to inflict substantial losses on the adversary across multiple fronts.
Ukraine's Strategic Campaign Intensifies
This wave of attacks underscores Ukraine's growing strategic activity in countering aggression, showcasing its effective use of modern military technology. By eliminating a significant number of critical military installations, these operations could degrade the operational capacity of Russian forces, potentially shifting the dynamics of the conflict in the region. Such developments may also strengthen international backing for Ukraine's efforts to restore its territorial integrity.
As Ukraine's military operations continue to evolve, the recent strikes not only targeted key Russian assets but also extended into critical areas such as Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia.
