Doctor in Lviv Refused to Free Parking Space for Veteran: Peak of the Scandal

On Monday, August 4, a protest took place near the Lviv Regional Clinical Hospital. Participants demanded the dismissal of the obstetrician Igor Malchevsky, who refused to give up a parking space for the veteran with disabilities Nikolai Veremiychik. According to the protesters, this caused outrage among them, and they were supported by 25 veterans and citizens.


The hospital director Mikhail Gichka promised to meet with the protesters and negotiate with the doctor regarding the situation. The dispute between the doctor and the veteran arose over the parking space that the doctor refused to give up after the decision of the homeowners' association in favor of the veteran.


Nikolai Shot, a veteran from Lviv region, lost his arms and legs in the war but managed to survive surgeries and rehabilitation and returned to driving a car.

Veteran Nikolai Shot, despite serious injuries and amputations, was able to undergo rehabilitation, receive prosthetics, and began driving again. His example is well known and inspires many.
