Студентка з Хмельницького потрапила у полон шпигунських схем: подробиці її діяльності та отриманих матеріалів.

Legal case of a student from Lyceum No. 15 in Khmelnytskyi

The court found the 11th-grade student from Lyceum No. 15 in Khmelnytskyi guilty of unlawfully disseminating information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine and passing this data to a representative of a foreign intelligence service. The accused received a sentence of five years in prison, which was replaced by two years of probation.

According to the case materials, in June 2025, the student communicated with a serviceman from the Information Operations Center of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia. As part of her activities, she documented the buildings of the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, receiving 949 UAH for this. On July 28, the girl filmed the perimeter of the Academy with her iPhone, and also received 501 UAH for filming a military unit in Khmelnytskyi. Additionally, she received 902 UAH for filming the territory of the regional TCC.

Additional circumstances of the case

Furthermore, the student purchased and installed a video camera on a railway track in Khmelnytskyi for 1.4 thousand UAH. The video camera operated for about two hours, capturing the movement of trains. The accused faced a potential prison sentence of eight to twelve years; however, the court approved a plea deal that led to a softer punishment. The court also ordered the legal representative of the accused to pay 4.4 thousand UAH in legal costs.

As a reminder, previously, a shooter from the 'Shkval' battalion received 15 years and one month in prison for treason. This case once again underscores the seriousness of crimes related to the disclosure of information concerning Ukraine's national security.

This case reflects the relevance of the Ukrainian state's fight against threats to national security, especially in the context of military conflict.

The case of the student from the lyceum draws attention to the issue of information security and the need to protect sensitive data from malicious actors. At the same time, the reduction of the punishment through a plea agreement may raise discussions about the fairness of the judicial process in similar cases.
