Goalkeeper Roman Lindov shared his thoughts with the portal 'Glavcom' regarding the development of amputee football in Ukraine. He believes that this sport can become very important for people with amputations, who will find new meaning and enjoyment in it. Lindov emphasized that there are already sponsors who support the team, and his main goal right now is to enjoy the game.


In Lindov's team 'Bureviy', the players do not have contracts, but amputee football already has its followers in Ukraine, where over 100,000 people with amputated limbs live. This sport helps them return to an active life and communicate with like-minded individuals.


Ukrainian Championship of Amputee Football


Currently, 10 teams participate in the Ukrainian championship. Recently, the Ukrainian national team won a tough match against Iceland in the qualification match for the World Cup.


Controversial Matches in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers


As part of the qualification for the 2026 World Cup, the Ukrainian national team drew with Azerbaijan and lost to France. Ukrainian fans supported the national team in the match against France, displaying a banner that read 'Fortress of Europe'.
