Analyst Assesses Fallout from a Potential U.S.-Israeli Strike on Iran

Експерт оцінює наслідки можливого удару США та Ізраїлю по Ірану.

Potential Military Action Against Iran

In an interview with Yuriy Romanenko's YouTube channel, analyst Mohammad Farajallah shared his assessment of a potential U.S. and Israeli military operation against Iran, its consequences, and Iran's military capabilities. Farajallah, who heads the 'Middle East Studies' think tank, stressed that toppling Iran's regime would require a ground invasion. He noted that 'Iran's territory, if someone were to land there—we understand this is not even Vietnam. We are talking about a country with a population of almost 80 million.' This highlights the significant challenge of a land war in a nation with a large, potentially resistant populace.

Regional Military Situation

The military situation in the region could severely impact neighboring states. According to Farajallah,

"Kuwait, Bahrain, partly Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar would suffer heavily"
. He also emphasized the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global chokepoint through which roughly 20% of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas exports flow.

On February 28, the U.S. and Israel initiated the 'Lion's Roar' operation against Iran. Farajallah believes that if the conflict escalates, Russia and the U.S. would stand to gain.

"Who would benefit? The Russians would benefit because they have surplus resources. And the United States would win, too"
, the analyst stated, suggesting a conflict could reshape global power dynamics.

Iran's military potential was a separate topic. Farajallah stated, 'it has become obvious: the weapons they received from China have also proven ineffective.' He pointed out that China actively supplied various armaments, including radars and air defense systems, but their effectiveness has been questionable, raising doubts about Iran's defensive capabilities from foreign suppliers.

Thus, the situation surrounding Iran remains tense, with potentially significant consequences for the region and the global economy. A military operation could lead to serious shifts in the Middle East's geopolitical landscape, causing concern among experts. Escalation could destabilize neighboring countries and global energy markets, while also intensifying the interest of major powers in this strategically vital area.
