Statistics of Ukrainian Marriages in Poland: Who Do They Marry Most Often

Дослідження шлюбних тенденцій українців у Польщі: кого обирають найбільше.
In 2024, Ukrainians in Poland increasingly chose partners of their nationality for marriage. Demographer Piotr Szukalski notes that there were 2,627 such marriages, which is the largest number. There were also 2,556 Ukrainian-Polish marriages and 166 marriages with representatives of a 'third' nationality, among whom the most popular are Belarusians.

The extension of the stay abroad forced Ukrainians to 'normalize their lives', which includes legitimizing relationships. Thus, Ukrainians in Poland choose to marry their compatriots, Poles, or representatives of a 'third' nation.

Psychologist Mark Travers points out that many couples enter marriage with unrealistic expectations, but it is important to be able to resolve conflicts together, which are a necessary part of any relationship.
