Life and Service
Ivan Samotiy was born on July 7, 1977, in the village of Bryukhovychi in the Lviv community. He studied at Secondary Comprehensive School No. 41 in Lviv. Later, he obtained a profession as a carpenter at the Lviv Professional College of Service and Printing.
He worked as a loader in the limited liability company 'Cargill Animal Nutrition'.
According to relatives, Ivan loved nature and the forest, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and cooking. He was known for his cheerfulness, kindness, and generosity, had a positive character, and always came to the aid of others.
In 2023, he took up arms to defend his homeland from the invasion of Russian occupiers. He defended the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine in the Northern Slobozhansky, Southern Slobozhansky, and Donetsk directions as part of military unit A7092 of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Awarded the 'War Veteran' medal.
Ivan Samotiy was buried in the local cemetery in Bryukhovychi. The defender is survived by his mother, wife, and son.
