In Vinnytsia, shots were fired near a shopping center in Pavlo Korneliuka lane. A man with a pistol was detained. As reported by 'Hromadske', this was communicated by the police of the Vinnytsia region.
A report of gunfire was received by the police around 4:10 PM. Law enforcement identified the shooter and swiftly detained him. He turned out to be a 31-year-old local resident. He allegedly fired a pneumatic pistol at the face of a 21-year-old man with whom he had a conflict.
A criminal proceeding has begun
The victim is being examined by medical personnel. All circumstances of the offense are being established, and the pistol has been seized for examination. A criminal proceeding has been initiated under part 4 of article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (hooliganism), which provides for up to 7 years of imprisonment.
Declaration of firearms in Ukraine
On November 25, 2024, the Law of Ukraine 'On Ensuring the Participation of Civilian Persons in the Defense of Ukraine' came into effect, aimed at improving the procedures for obtaining, declaring, and handling firearms.
