Attacks Across Sumy Region
Drone and artillery attacks across Ukraine's northeastern Sumy region have resulted in civilian casualties. Over a 24-hour period, more than 60 strikes were recorded targeting 35 settlements within 18 communities. In the Sumy community alone, 19 children and 10 adults were injured, with two more people wounded later in the day. Additional casualties were reported in other communities: two women were injured in the Popivska community, a 69-year-old man was hurt in the Sveska community, a 25-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were wounded in the Hlukhiv community, and a 48-year-old woman sought medical aid in the Shostka community. The Sumy region borders Russia and has faced persistent shelling since the full-scale invasion began.
The attacks caused damage and destruction to:

- Automobiles
- Farm buildings
- Infrastructure facilities
Oleh Grygorov noted: 'In the Sumy community, 19 children and 10 adults were injured as a result of a UAV attack last night; two more people were injured during the day. Throughout the day, people continued to seek medical help. Most are suffering from acute stress reactions.'
Strikes Reported in Other Regions
Attacks were also reported in other Ukrainian regions. In the Bereznehuvatska community of the Mykolaiv region, a married couple sustained injuries. In Odesa, three people were injured during the night of April 5. On the evening of April 4, Russian forces struck Kharkiv, specifically the Shevchenkivskyi district. The situation remains tense, with emergency services continuing to respond to new injuries. These incidents are part of a wider pattern of strikes targeting civilian areas far from the front lines.
These events underscore the ongoing armed aggression in eastern Ukraine, leading to significant civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.
