Yulia Sviridenko, the First Deputy Prime Minister, responded to President Volodymyr Zelensky's offer to head the Ukrainian government. In her message on social media, she expressed her readiness to take on this responsibility.
'I am grateful to President Volodymyr Zelensky for the trust - and for the opportunity to serve Ukraine at this crucial moment,' Sviridenko wrote.
Priority tasks for the new government
According to her, the head of state identified three priority tasks for the new government: strengthening Ukraine's economic potential, expanding support programs for Ukrainians, and scaling up domestic weapons production.
Sviridenko emphasized that accomplishing these tasks will require significant deregulation, the elimination of bureaucratic obstacles, reduction of non-critical state expenses, and protection of entrepreneurship.
Focus on defense and social policy
The future head of the government noted that the primary task is ensuring Ukraine's security and guaranteeing the state's stability. She also highlighted the importance of social support for Ukrainians, particularly for military personnel and veterans.
Sviridenko noted that the decision on the appointment of the Prime Minister of Ukraine is made by the Verkhovna Rada, and the candidacy of government members may be announced soon.
After President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed Yulia Sviridenko to head the country's government, she expressed her readiness to accept responsibility. She also emphasized the importance of strengthening economic potential, supporting Ukrainians, and defending the country, defining these tasks as priorities for the future government.
