Pension Problems in Belarus
Recently, Lukashenko's regime in Belarus has been facing a personnel shortage and growing financial problems, which jeopardize the country's pension system. This was reported by the Ukrainian Foreign Intelligence Service.
The Belarusian government is considering various options to solve these problems, such as increasing taxes, attracting labor migrants, or reducing social expenditures. If the situation becomes critical and there is not enough money even for pensions, the first step will be the introduction of new tax initiatives.
'Emigration has intensified after the repressions of 2020, when tens of thousands of qualified specialists left the country - from doctors to engineers. The biggest shortage is in working and technical specialties,' noted the SZYR.
According to intelligence reports, Lukashenko is negotiating to attract migrants from Asian countries to compensate for the labor shortage. The Minsk government plans to bring in hundreds of thousands of foreign workers to address this issue.
