Currently, Ukrainians in Lithuania should hurry to transition to a long-term residence status. The most common method of legalization is obtaining a temporary residence permit (TRP), which grants the right to work, conduct business, and the ability to change the basis of stay without leaving the country. To obtain a TRP, one must have employment with a minimum wage, and special conditions apply to in-demand professions.

At the same time, changes regarding the legal status of Ukrainians have also occurred in Poland and the Netherlands. In Poland, the conditions for social benefits for refugees have been changed, linking them to employment and children's education in local schools. In the Netherlands, Ukrainians may face changes in housing conditions due to a shortage of accommodation, which could affect their stay in the country.

Changes in the legal status of Ukrainians in various European countries indicate a gradual transition to other residence statuses and stricter requirements for migrants. Ukrainians are advised to make efforts to legalize their status according to the legislation of the country they are in, to avoid potential problems in the future.
