The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has approved a new procedure for mandatory medical examinations for employees of certain categories according to the order of 08.09.2025 No. 1393. This document has not yet come into effect, but can be implemented at any moment after official publication.
The new rules apply to all types of employers: legal entities, individual entrepreneurs, and hired employees. They cover four general categories of employees who are subject to mandatory medical examinations.
Who is under mandatory control?
The first category includes employees who work in difficult, harmful, or dangerous conditions. This includes individuals who come into contact with various harmful factors. The second category covers positions where specialized selection is necessary. The third category includes all employees under the age of 21, and the fourth comprises employees with night work schedules.
Funding for medical examinations rests entirely on the shoulders of the employer. They must also plan medical examinations in advance for the year, compiling lists of employees who are subject to examinations.
Procedure for undergoing medical examinations
To undergo a medical examination, an employee must provide the commission of the medical institution with the necessary documents. Based on the results of the examinations, they receive conclusions about their professional suitability. Additionally, medical conclusions are sent to the relevant institutions for further actions.
The new procedure creates an effective system of medical control over the health status of employees and requires employers to take a responsible approach to this process.
