Trump's Role and the Peace Council

Donald Trump could retain his position as chairman of the Peace Council even after his presidential term concludes. This council, established on Trump's initiative, aims to promote international stability and peace. Ukraine has now received an invitation to join this body, a development that adds a new dimension to the initiative.

Trump will remain chairman until he chooses to resign. In his capacity, he has formally invited Vladimir Putin to participate in the council's work. This move has drawn mixed reactions from potential member states. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Ukraine received an official invitation to join. However, Zelenskyy expressed profound skepticism about participating in the same organization as the aggressor nation, referring to Russia.

Peace Council Membership

The Peace Council's membership includes several notable figures, such as:

  • Secretary of State Marco Rubio
  • Special Envoy Steve Witkoff
  • Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner

To secure a permanent seat on the council, countries are being asked to contribute a minimum of $1 billion.

This council is viewed by some as a potential alternative to the United Nations, highlighting Trump's ambitious plans for international policy. The participation of Ukraine and other nations, however, remains uncertain and will likely depend on the evolving political landscape and relations with aggressor states. The initiative is seen as an effort by Trump to maintain global influence beyond his presidency.

The establishment of the Peace Council and the invitation to Ukraine reflect Donald Trump's attempt to preserve his influence on the world stage after his term in office ends.

Ukraine's potential involvement is further complicated by its ongoing conflict with Russia, raising serious concerns about collective security within such a forum. Given these circumstances, future developments within the Peace Council will require close observation of shifts in international diplomacy.
