Negotiations between the USA and Russia

Donald Trump sent a peace envoy to Moscow with a proposal to recognize Russian control over Crimea in exchange for an end to the war. The Kremlin received a new strategy to end the war consisting of 19 points, developed after negotiations that took place on November 23 in Geneva. Kyiv will not be required to recognize Russian control over the peninsula, but European allies have expressed concerns about changes to borders.

Components of the Plan and Ukraine's Reaction

Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, representing Trump's interests, were sent to Moscow. The Kremlin confirmed receipt of the 19-point peace plan, initially drafted as 28 points. After the negotiations in Geneva, the plan was reduced to 19 points, most of which have already been agreed upon, leaving only a few delicate details.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, emphasized that President Volodymyr Zelensky will not sign a document relinquishing territory.

To discuss the situation, Yermak and Rustem Umerov will travel to Florida to meet with American officials. Meanwhile, European allies stressed the importance of maintaining borders and the inadmissibility of changing them by force.

This situation highlights the complexity of international negotiations in the context of the war in Ukraine and relations between the West and Russia. Trump's proposals, even if not accepted, could influence the further course of events and the attitude of the global community towards the conflict. It is important for Ukraine and its allies to clearly outline their positions to avoid misunderstandings and maintain territorial integrity.
