Generation Z brings parents to job interviews: what employers think about it

The American labor market is adding color shades: recently, it has become fashionable for young job candidates to appear at interviews with their parents by their side. According to a study by ResumeTemplates, this practice is becoming increasingly common among Generation Z in the U.S.



According to the New York Post, 77% of young people from Generation Z expect parental support in their job search. Parents can participate in interviews, answer questions from employers, and even assist in discussions about salary conditions.



"As many as 29% of young people admitted that they attended interviews accompanied by their parents, while 31% stated that their resumes were partially or fully created by their parents."


The study results also indicate that after being hired, 79% of young people influence their parents on issues regarding salary and other employment conditions.



The unusual trend of young people bringing their parents to job interviews is gaining momentum in the U.S. More and more young people from Generation Z do not hesitate to bring their parents along when seeking work. The situation has even become the subject of research and media discussions.
