The new film by James Cameron 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' is being talked about everywhere: it launched with impressive earnings of around $345 million, exceeding the expectations of the Walt Disney Studio. Although the film came in second in box office earnings among Hollywood newcomers of 2025, it still fell short of 'Zootopia 2', which collected $556 million.

Despite the impressive earnings, the domestic box office figures for 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' turned out to be 35% lower than those of the previous film 'Avatar: The Way of Water'. Analysts explain this by saying that audiences did not expect the same level of success from the sequel.

The film was released slightly closer to Christmas than its predecessor, which may have resulted in fewer viewers attending theaters on opening weekend. However, it is expected that the coming weeks will bring significant box office success for the film.

And soon we can expect new releases, such as 'Avengers: Judgment Day' and 'Dune: Part Three', which may rekindle audience interest in theaters in 2026 after the pandemic. 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' has become a hallmark of the film industry's attempt to revive demand for movie production and break the stagnation.

The film's premiere impressed not only viewers but also financial curators: the budget for the film was around $400 million, making it one of the most expensive of all time even before its release in theaters. James Cameron plans to release several subsequent parts of the franchise in 2029 and 2031. So, fans of 'Avatar' have much to look forward to!
