Tiramisu Run in Treviso
On October 11, 2026, the Italian city of Treviso will host the world’s first themed Tiramisu Run, held as part of the Treviso Half Marathon. The course measures 10.1 kilometers and winds through the historic city center, passing rivers, canals, and main squares. The start and finish lines are set near the medieval walls on Viale Bartolomeo d'Alviano.
Participation is capped at 1,000 people, with a minimum age requirement of 16. Notably, organizers will not record participants’ times or positions, and no medical certificate is needed.
Celebrating Tiramisu
Treviso is recognized as the birthplace of tiramisu, a dessert that took its modern form in the 1960s at the Le Beccherie restaurant. There, pastry chef Roberto Linguanotto, together with an apprentice, combined coffee-soaked savoiardi biscuits with mascarpone cream. The name translates from Italian dialect as 'pick me up.' While Le Beccherie no longer serves tiramisu, the dessert’s popularity endures.
As part of the tiramisu celebrations, Treviso will host the international Tiramisu World Cup from October 9 to 11 on the main square, Piazza dei Signori. Free tastings and workshops will be offered to visitors.
- Among the competitors, pastry chefs from Kharkiv will present a giant strawberry tiramisu weighing 18 kilograms, adding to the event’s appeal.
- The Tiramisu Run and Tiramisu World Cup promise an unforgettable celebration for sports and food enthusiasts alike.
These Treviso events highlight the importance of the region’s cultural and culinary traditions, drawing tourists and boosting the local economy. The blend of sport and gastronomy could become a new tourist attraction, increasing interest in the city not only as the birthplace of tiramisu but also as a hub for active recreation and culinary excellence.
