Incident with the artists of 'Hutsuliya'

Three residents of Sheptytsky were sent to court for beating the artists of the folk ensemble 'Hutsuliya', who were returning from a tour. The pre-trial investigation is complete, and the indictment has been submitted for court review. The accused, aged 17, 18, and 20, are facing charges of hooliganism which could lead to imprisonment for up to four years.

The incident occurred on December 7, when the artists of 'Hutsuliya' were returning from tours in Poland and Finland. The attackers, which included about six young men and three women, stormed the bus with the artists. As a result of the attack, several artists were injured and sustained multiple injuries. The attackers not only inflicted physical harm but also damaged belongings in the bus, continuing their aggressive behavior even after the police arrived.

Status of the investigation and reaction

The fourth suspect in the case, a 21-year-old resident of Sheptytsky, has not yet been identified. The artists of the 'Hutsuliya' ensemble filed a report with the police, which became the basis for the investigation. According to Vasyl Sheremeta, the artists became victims of an aggressive attack when they returned from the tours. The penalty under the article for which the young individuals are accused includes imprisonment for up to five years or imprisonment for up to four years.

This incident highlights security issues for artists traveling, as well as the need for enhanced protective measures during concert tours. The attack on the artists has become a resonant event, provoking outrage among the public and the artistic community, as it indicates a rise in aggression in society.
