The Turkish tourism sector is transitioning to a new AI-Light (All Inclusive Light) format, where standard meals and non-alcoholic drinks are included, while alcohol is charged separately. This innovation has been presented by the German tour operator Schauinsland Reisen in select hotels in Turkey.
Guests who opt out of alcohol can save around 50 euros per person for a week. The new format is already being tested in several hotels and, if successfully implemented, may be expanded nationwide.
Demand for hotels in Turkey
In June, the demand for hotels for vacation increased by 38% compared to the previous year in Turkey, especially in the Aegean and Mediterranean regions. The most popular vacation destinations have become Antalya, Bodrum, Fethiye, Kusadasi, and Cesme.
The average price of accommodation in a 5-star hotel in Antalya was 11,250 lira for three nights for two people, while in a boutique hotel in Bodrum - 4,980 lira for two nights. The cost of accommodation in different regions of Turkey ranges from 1,580 to 3,750 lira per night for double occupancy.
