In Chernivtsi, for the World Vyshyvanka Day on May 21, a special festive retro trolleybus will be launched. It will travel through the central streets of the city and become part of the festive events for one of the most well-known Ukrainian cultural holidays. This was reported by the Chernivtsi Trolleybus Administration.
The retro trolleybus in Chernivtsi will operate on route No. 1
The festive transport will operate on route No. 1 “Chernivtsi National University—Yasna Street.”
The first trip will start at 11:00 from the “National University” stop. This place is considered symbolic for the holiday, as the Day of Vyshyvanka originated in Chernivtsi.
The retro trolleybus will travel around the city until 18:00, creating a festive atmosphere for residents and tourists.
The Day of Vyshyvanka is traditionally celebrated on a large scale in Chernivtsi
Chernivtsi is considered the birthplace of the World Vyshyvanka Day. It was here that students of Chernivtsi National University initiated the tradition of coming to study in vyshyvankas, which later grew into an international holiday.
Every year, Ukrainians from different countries join the celebration, and cities in Ukraine hold themed activities, concerts, and cultural events.
In Chernivtsi, the Day of Vyshyvanka is traditionally accompanied by large city events, and the retro trolleybus has already become one of the most atmospheric parts of the festive program.
