Annual vacation in Ukraine can start even on a Saturday, Sunday, or holiday. According to the Southeast Interregional Department of the State Labor Service, the law calculates vacation in calendar days, which means it can start on any day.
According to Article 5 of the 'On Vacations' law, their duration is determined by law, other legal acts, and labor or collective agreements. The main thing is that the vacation is calculated in calendar days, not working days.
According to Article 73 of the Labor Code of Ukraine, holidays and non-working days can also be considered as the beginning of vacation, the Southeast Interregional Department of the State Labor Service noted.
Legislation does not prohibit starting a vacation on weekends, so this issue is resolved at the enterprise level. Let us remind you that rest is such an important element of the labor process, so let everyone enjoy it throughout the week!
New guarantees of annual vacations for military personnel
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed a law on new guarantees of annual vacations for military personnel. Now military personnel are guaranteed 15 days of vacation from the 30 days of annual leave. The law also provides for an additional 14 days of rest for combat participants, which will be provided regardless of the conditions in the unit.
This law gives military personnel more opportunities for rest, which is important in conditions of constant increased readiness and tension at the front. The new vacation guarantees will make their service more effective and comfortable.
