Assault in Khust
A disturbing incident unfolded in Khust, located in the Zakarpattia region, when a 25-year-old BMW driver attacked a 23-year-old pregnant woman by spraying pepper gas directly into her face. According to the Zakarpattia regional police, the assailant failed to yield to two women at a pedestrian crossing, stopping his vehicle in the middle of the crosswalk and blocking their path. After exiting his car, he became aggressive and used abusive language.
As the women attempted to walk away, the attacker retrieved a pepper spray canister and chased after them. He caught up with one of the women on the sidewalk and discharged the gas into her face, causing eye burns. Medical personnel provided the victim with necessary treatment. Police arrested the suspect under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and placed him in a temporary detention facility. He faces hooliganism charges under Part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway.

In a separate case, police in Vinnytsia detained a man who was in possession of an explosive device and threatened his wife with it. Meanwhile, in Kyiv’s Desnianskyi district, authorities arrested another individual who fired two shots during a confrontation with acquaintances and then barricaded himself inside an apartment. No injuries were reported from that shooting.
