On March 8, the movement of surface public transport in the central part of Kyiv will temporarily change. The reason is the holding of mass events in the city, due to which some routes will operate on alternative schemes. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration.

The Kyiv City State Administration, citing KP “Kyivpastrans”, reported that the restrictions will be in effect in several stages. Some routes will change their movement from 11:00 to approximately 13:00, while others will do so from 12:00.

Changes to transport routes in Kyiv on March 8

From 11:00 to approximately 13:00, the movement of the following trolleybuses will change:

  • #4

  • #5

  • #7

  • #8

  • #17.

They will travel to Taras Shevchenko Boulevard on standard routes, after which they will detour through Leontovicha, Bohdan Khmelnytskyi, and Pyrohov Streets.

The bus movement scheme will also be changed:

  • #109 — from Kharkivska metro station to Antonovycha street on the usual route, then through Pavlo Skoropadskyi street, Ukrainian Heroes Square, and Velyka Vasylkivska street.

  • #110 and #111 — will run from Myroslavska and Darnytsia Square only to European Square.

Bus movement restrictions in central Kyiv

From 12:00 to approximately 13:00, several more public transport routes will change:

  • bus #24 — from the Museum of the History of Ukraine in World War II to Baseina street, then through Esplanadna, Saksahanskoho, Symona Petliury to the Central Railway Station;

  • bus #62 — from the Botanical Garden to Baseina street, after which it will pass through Palace of Sport metro station and Shota Rustaveli street;

  • bus #114 — after Khreshchatyk, it will go through Independence Square, Mykhailivska, Velyka Zhytomyrska, and Taras Shevchenko Boulevard;

  • bus #118 — from Chernihivska metro station to Baseina street, then through Esplanadna and Saksahanskoho.

The city administration notes that after the events are completed, transport will gradually return to its usual movement schemes.

The reason for the changes will be the holding of the Women’s March, which will take place in Kyiv on March 8. The action will start at 11:00 in Taras Shevchenko Park. This will be the first such march in the capital since the beginning of the full-scale invasion by Russia.
