Свіжі продуктові ринки в Києві: де їх знайти 28-29 березня

Agricultural Food Markets in Kyiv

From March 24 to 29, 2023, a series of agricultural food markets will be held in Kyiv, as announced by the Department of Industry and Entrepreneurship Development of the Kyiv City State Administration. These events offer residents a valuable chance to purchase fresh goods directly from local producers.

Market Schedule

On Tuesday, March 28, markets will operate in several districts of the city:

  • Holosiivskyi District: Pankivska Street (between Saksahanskoho and Zhylianska Streets) and Holosiivska Street, 4-10.
  • Darnytskyi District: Revutskoho Street.
  • Desnianskyi District: Oleksandry Ekster Street (between Mykoly Zakrevskoho Street and Chervonoi Kalyny Avenue) and Liskivska Street (between Myloslavska and Radunska Streets).
  • Dniprovskyi District: Amvrosiia Buchmy Boulevard, 2-10.
  • Podilskyi District: Stepan Bandera Avenue (near Kurenivskyi Park).
  • Solomianskyi District: Akademika Shalimova Street, 42 (between Mykhaila Dontsia and Akademika Biletskoho Streets).
  • Shevchenkivskyi District: Bohdana Havrylyshyna Street, 7-11.

The following day, Wednesday, March 29, the markets are scheduled for these locations:

  • Holosiivskyi District: Samiila Kishky Street (between Yulii Zdanovskoi and Vasylia Kasiiana Streets).
  • Darnytskyi District: Zdolbunivska Street, 4.
  • Dniprovskyi District: Ihoria Yukhnovskoho Street (between Raiduzhna and Starosilska Streets).
  • Pecherskyi District: John McCain Street (between Ioanna Pavla II and Dmytra Doroshenka Streets).
  • Shevchenkivskyi District: Tatarska Street, 32-38.

It is important to note that due to quarantine restrictions, markets are temporarily suspended in the Obolonskyi District at Petra Kalnyshevskoho Street, 1-5, and Yordanska Street, 1-9. Additionally, Kyiv operates several municipal markets year-round, including:

  • Municipal Enterprise 'Volodymyrskyi Market' at Antonovycha Street, 115.
  • Municipal Enterprise 'Zhytnii Market' at Verkhnii Val Street, 16.
  • Municipal Enterprise 'Bessarabskyi Market' at Bessarabska Square, 2.
Organizers urge all visitors to prioritize safety and proceed to shelters immediately during air raid alerts.

These markets are particularly significant given the current economic pressures, including rising food prices. For instance, the cost of buckwheat is approaching 70 UAH per kilogram, and 1kg packages are becoming scarce. Such direct-to-consumer markets can be a crucial source of affordable, fresh food for residents.

By facilitating direct sales from producers, these events help lower food costs for consumers while supporting local farmers and regional agriculture. They serve as an important community support mechanism during a period of economic challenge.

In addition to the upcoming agricultural markets, residents can also look forward to weekend farmers' markets, where fresh potatoes and other produce will be available. These events provide an excellent opportunity for locals to support regional farmers while enjoying a variety of seasonal goods.
