Prices for white cabbage range from 12 to 20 Ukrainian hryvnias per kilogram—roughly 52% higher than at the end of last workweek. According to farmers,
“the harvest of early cabbage is wrapping up, while the mass collection of mid-season and mid-late varieties has not yet begun.”
These fairs in Kyiv will give city dwellers a chance to buy fresh items and explore what local producers have to offer.
Seasonal fairs in Kyiv play a key role in supporting local farmers and ensuring the capital's population has access to fresh food. With vegetable prices rising—cabbage being a notable example—the fairs can serve as an alternative source of affordable goods. They also help boost the local economy and encourage consumption of Ukrainian agricultural products.
As the seasonal fairs commence in Kyiv, it’s worth noting the fluctuating prices of other produce. For instance, green pea prices are experiencing a significant drop, offering residents an opportunity to benefit from various fresh products as the market evolves. This dynamic environment not only supports local farmers but also enhances the variety available to consumers.
