A New Round-the-Clock Trauma Center with Advanced Equipment Opens in Kyiv

У Києві відкрили сучасний травмцентр, що працює без перерви та обладнаний найновітнішою технікою.

New Trauma Center Launches in Kyiv

A state-of-the-art trauma center has begun operating around the clock in Kyiv, based at the municipal non-profit enterprise 'Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No. 18.' This facility represents a critical addition to the capital's medical infrastructure, according to a report by 'Glavcom' citing the Kyiv City State Administration's Health Department. Equipped with modern diagnostic tools, the center is designed to deliver swift and effective medical care.

Key Features and Specializations

The new unit operates independently 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no breaks or holidays. A dedicated team of orthopedic surgeons, traumatologists, and surgeons is on duty, ready to handle a wide range of emergencies. The trauma center is located at 17 Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, Kyiv, near the 'Universytet' metro station. For more information, call (044) 293-24-18.

Specializing in various medical treatments, the center provides care for:

  • bone and joint injuries;
  • prompt reduction of dislocations;
  • realignment and immobilization of fractures;
  • treatment of soft tissue damage;
  • cleaning and suturing of cuts;
  • management of severe bruises, sprains, and ligament tears.

For patients with complex injuries, the center offers assistance for simultaneous damage to limbs and other body parts.

Additionally, the trauma center provides initial treatment and prevention of rabies and tetanus for animal or insect bites. Services also include consultative and diagnostic care, inpatient treatment (both planned and urgent hospitalization), rehabilitation, and palliative care.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Health and administrators of the eHealth system have refuted claims that nurses would be banned from issuing referrals starting May 20. Information suggesting patients would lose the ability to receive referrals remotely is also false.

The opening of this new trauma center in Kyiv is set to enhance healthcare services, particularly amid the growing demand for emergency medical assistance. By easing the burden on other hospitals, it ensures rapid access to specialists in case of injuries. Expanding medical infrastructure marks a significant step toward improving the quality of healthcare in the capital.

As healthcare infrastructure continues to evolve in Ukraine, the recent establishment of a trauma center in Kyiv highlights the ongoing advancements in medical facilities across the country. This development mirrors the progress seen at the top transplant centers in Cherkasy, which have also made significant strides in providing specialized care. Such improvements are essential for ensuring timely and effective treatment for patients in critical conditions.
