Cherkasy Clinical Center for Oncology, Hematology, Transplantology and Palliative Care

According to Міністерство Здоров'я: As the primary medical institution in the Cherkasy region, this center provides care for patients with malignant tumors and blood disorders. Each year, the facility handles over 23,000 hospitalizations, more than 88,000 outpatient visits, nearly 8,000 surgeries, and over 350 transplant procedures.

The center is equipped with two linear accelerators for advanced radiation therapy, offers MRI diagnostics, maintains its own laboratory facilities, and provides palliative care along with oncology rehabilitation services.

Key Statistics and Milestones

Approximately 5,000 new cancer cases are diagnosed annually in the Cherkasy region. The center currently monitors over 50,000 cancer patients through its dispensary system. Since late 2019, the institution has performed more than 350 transplants, including hematopoietic stem cell and kidney transplants. For three consecutive years, it has ranked among Ukraine's top three centers for bone marrow transplant volume.

On a daily basis, the center conducts 8 to 10 MRI scans, and around 50 patients receive radiation therapy using the linear accelerators.

  • In 2025, over 700 patients received inpatient palliative care.
  • Outpatient palliative services were provided to 335 patients.
  • The center performs roughly 1.3 million laboratory tests annually.
  • Currently, more than 700 staff members work at the facility, ensuring a high standard of medical service.

For 2026, the Cherkasy Clinical Center has secured contracts with the National Health Service of Ukraine under 22 packages of the Medical Guarantees Program.

Viktor Paramonov, a representative of the center, states: 'In today's environment, the single requirement is patient-centeredness.'

The center offers a complete care pathway: from diagnosis and treatment through transplantation, rehabilitation, palliative support, and mental health care.

This institution plays a vital role in Ukraine's healthcare system, particularly in the fight against cancer. Given the rising number of new cancer cases in the region, having such a facility is critical for ensuring patients' access to modern diagnostic and treatment methods. Moreover, the emphasis on patient-centeredness reflects a shift in healthcare approaches, where patient needs become the priority in delivering medical services.
